If someone would have told me a year ago that I would be here doing this I would have laughed (maybe even outloud). It’s funny the older you get the less you care about what others think so the fear of failing is not the worst that could happen.Remembering back to December when this project began I could have never dreamed it to be so fun, so exhilarating and so exhausting at this same time. The one constant in all of this is the people provide us so much energy. That is definitely the best part!My husband and I moved here 5 years ago from Johnson City, TN. Our daughter, Lane attends Clemmons Elementary and will be in middle school next year. My time does fly. The irony in all of this is the reason we relocated was because of my job. This was the same position I was downsized from in September 2012.
I have experienced a lot of growth through my past career and I feel every moment has led me here-exactly where I’m supposed to be. I love the creativity, the people and being inspired by others. I couldn’t have “gotten by with a little help from my friends”. Many folks were here working tiredlessly to recreate this boutique! Thank you all!
If you haven’t been here then you owe it to yourself to stop in and see us! We have beautiful upcycled furniture, gift items for many ages,
Monogramming, vintage items and much much more. Not to mention that we are a proud retailer for the CeCe Caldwell’s clay and chalk paint. These all natural products are user friendly and fun to work with. You can now call the store and sign up for classes. We look forward to seeing you soon!
It is a gift and a joy to be a part of Penny Lane Boutique. I feel very blessed to be a part of this adventure and I give God all the glory and honor for it.I am a transplanted Southern California girl who now loves to call NC home. My husband, Chris, and our son, Grant, who was 15 months old at the time, moved to the Winston Salem area in 1994. During much of my married life I was a stay-at-home mommy to Grant as well as my daughters, Molly & Lilly, but have also worked part-time as an administrative assistant and most recently as an executive recruiter researcher.I have loved design, be it clothing, architectural or home decor, from a young age. Since the time that I could physically move furniture around, I was rearranging my room or changing the look. Penny Lane gives me that creative outlet in painting an old forgotten furniture piece and giving it new life or just moving pieces around the store to keep it fresh and new.
I also love the retail side of what is happening at Penny Lane. It is with great enthusiasm that Chris and I pick items that we would want for ourselves or to give to the ones we love and don’t even get me started on our excitement about the CeCe Caldwell’s paint. Love, Love, Love it! But most importantly, it has been such an extraordinary experience connecting with the people that come into our store. We enjoy meeting and talking with our customers and helping them decide on anything from necklace for a special occasion to a paint color for a project that they want to give new life to at home. I always want to convey a friendly and fun atmosphere at Penny Lane so that those that enter want to return.
